Event Review

Elaine started by talking about the hardware that she uses for creating screencasts. She then went on to cover the vast array of software and services that are available for creating screencasts, some of which are free (such as Screenr, Screen Toaster and Jing.

This was followed by an overview of her personal experiences with a number of screen recording applications. The main part of the event was a demonstration of the entire process for creating a screencast using both Screenflow and Camtasia, both fully-featured applications for creating, editing and publishing screencasts.

As the popularity of training moves away from the classroom to other mediums, I believe that screencasting is one of those must-have skills. If you missed this webinar, then you missed a treat and even I learnt a few new tricks!
